Chloé Arnold is a high-flying American lifestyle blogger. Her blog Beyond Blessed attracts thousands of hits for its eloquently written posts on travel and style. With tousled golden hair, a penchant for fashion and an obeying husband with decent photography skills, she is the epitome of a wife blogger. As well as posting about her exotic travel experiences and favourite summer outfits, Chloé uses her platform to share the lessons she’s learned about married life with her husband, Caleb.
Caleb co-writes on several of Chloé’s blog posts, giving a man’s perspective on love and marriage. Offering his candid thoughts to Chloé’s readers, Caleb’s written contributions are refreshing to read in such a female-heavy corner of the internet. With Wife Appreciation Day on the horizon, we interviewed Chloé on why she loves being a wife, what she decided to do with her maiden name and how she changed as a person since Caleb decided to put a ring on it.
Chloé & Caleb Arnold.
New York City, NY.
We tied the knot at Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Missouri. My family is predominately from California, Caleb’s family is in Georgia and we met working in Branson, so we figured we would have the wedding in Branson. My family also owns quite a few log cabins in the Branson area, so we were able to house most of our family for the wedding. We called the log cabin community our wedding village. It made for a fun long weekend of wedding celebrations!
Having someone to do life with- whether that be going to the market, encouraging me to be the best version of myself, exploring Central Park or traveling half way around the world. I love knowing I have a partner who will go to bat for me, just like I would for him.
I believe patience and good, open communication are vital in a marriage. But I also believe a spirit of adventure and joy are helpful. If you choose to be joyful and look at challenges as an adventure, you can accomplish anything.
Absolutely! Being a wife has taught me how to serve others and to put others needs before my own. Prior to being married, I did not realize how often I only thought of my needs or desires. I’ve also learned to look at things with a new perspective. I love how marriage brings a second set of eyes into each situation. My husband and I view things vastly differently. It is fun to see how my perspective has changed over the years. I now view things from various view points.
Yes, I did take his surname. I’m slightly old fashioned and love the idea of taking on a new last name to symbolize our new start together. Having said that, I did also keep my maiden name as a second middle name.
More than I wish to admit. Most jobs I’ve had were 9 AM – 6 PM jobs. Blogging is a 24/7 job. I am always trying to create new content and carry my big camera around in my purse almost everywhere. I’m the person lagging behind to capture the perfect shot. It is hard to juggle your time and focus when you want to give 100% to your husband, blog, friends, and other commitments. Having said that, our lives are very well documented and blogging has reminded me to look for the beauty in each day. I believe blogging helps me cherish and celebrate the little everyday moments- the moments we often granted. Many fun opportunities have come our way because of blogging and I am thankful for the adventures blogging has given us.
