5 Ways We Have Revived Our Classics For AW17

This season, a group of our most iconic pieces have experienced the sleekest of revivals. Here, discover the five key alterations our design team has made to our classics for a renewed and restyled family of collections.

1. The Gold Monogram

The same emblem, a shinier status. On the front of all our new collections, you will now find the Maxwell Scott monogram gleaming in gold. Embossed onto the surface of the leather, the revived monogram is a symbol of high-quality craftsmanship and impeccable design – a mantra that will never change. Subtly positioned near the lower base of the bags and accessories, our new gold emblem is perfectly juxtaposed against the brass metalware.

2. A Fresh Aesthetic

Our Creative Director, Adam Evans, has redesigned our ‘Maxwell – Scott’ logo for a rejuvenated aesthetic. A style that is now aligned with our new, modernised collections, we have dropped ‘Bags’ from our name and a new era has been born. The ‘Maxwell – Scott’ era. This new trademark is subtly embossed on the back of every new bag and accessory – a simple reminder of our new generation of the brand.

3. New Linings

Our signature soft polyamide lining has been replaced with a soft twill cotton. Dyed in a light mauve hue for AW17, the new cotton lining contrasts seamlessly with our shades of leather on the exterior. The design team has specifically chosen this cotton fabric due to its tight structure, making it incredibly durable for everyday wear and tear. With a more sumptuous feel than our former lining, it’s a leap forward in giving our customers the most luxurious experience possible.

4. High Quality Metalware

To elevate the luxurious feel of our new collections further, the design team decided to adapt the metalware on our bags and accessories. Sometimes, its the smallest tweaks that make the largest impact in the world of design. All internal and external zips are now sourced from YKK to inject a higher quality element. The zips’ teeth are made from brass for a smooth and pristine finish.

5. Exploring Leathers

For the very first time, we have decided to experiment with our signature vachetta leather. Our classic full grain leather has been dyed in petrol and wine and introduced through the AW17 Bella and Emilia collections – the ideal autumnal hues to complement your wintry wardrobes. Our founder, William, has always had a desire to take the leap into brighter leathers – the introduction of these colours is a monumental and anticipated shift for the brand.
