Established in 2002, our journey began with a pursuit of a high-quality, luxury men’s briefcase. With nothing on the market but high street throwaway bags, businessman William Scott Forshaw was determined to change the game. With a mission to design a luxury men’s briefcase that would truly stand the test of time, he founded Maxwell-Scott, and began the search for the finest quality materials. Exploring Italy’s countryside for master leather craftsmen led William to a family-run factory in Tuscany, owned by the passionate Orazio. Backed with generations of leathercraft knowledge, they created the very first Maxwell-Scott product: The Paolo Briefcase. Over 20 years later, The Paolo Briefcase continues to prevail as our best seller to date, and Orazio and his family remain devoted to crafting with Maxwell-Scott.

Since that fateful day, Maxwell-Scott has continued to create stunning full-grain leather bags and accessories with quality and family at the heart of every piece crafted.
