Remarkable briefcase, inside and out. Ideal for an executive or business professional who wants to present a quality image and stand apart from others carrying the standard issue $40 nylon laptop case or backpack. Very roomy without being too heavy, unlike the Saddleback Leather case I purchased which, while of great quality too, just is too heavy and rustic when visiting clients. From online order to delivery, a total of 3 days, so must say also Maxwell Scott gets superlative customer service.

A couple points not addressed elsewhere for which I had concerns before I received it:
Size: This was the first nice bag I've come across that comfortably fit my over-sized Alienware laptop (16" x 1.75" x 12") AND STILL had plenty of room left over for books and other things. At the same time, though, it didn't look very big when I pulled it out of the box due to its almost accordion-like structure.
The Leather: The black bag was a very nice, shiny black leather on the outside. Some other bags I had come across from some high-end designers had a very rough, dull, black exterior that would make you think they pulled it from a dumpster. So it was nice that Maxwell Scott's leather WAS nice AND LOOKED nice too.
In sum, it's a great bag!

I came across MS by chance and their cases looked great and I thought were very good value provided they were really as good as they looked. I ordered the biggest case they had because I carry a lot if stuff every day. They were extremely helpful on the phone and the delivery service was really good. The case is fabulous - will start using it next week. Beautiful leather, dark brown and the smell is better than Mont Blanc Legend !

From the moment I opened the exquisitely packed/wrapped box, going through the pleasant leather smell, to the moment you start putting your laptop, documents, keys, cell phone, pens, stethoscope, etc in the briefcase; the bag delivered a sense of "this is the one, I can definitely enjoy the briefcase that I use to go to work every day without any compromise". Needless to say I have already received compliments from my wife and other co-workers for their professional looks and craftsmanship.

-contents: 13" laptop, a binder with educational pamphlets, 4 folders with papers, stethoscope, business card holder, 3 sets of keys, wallet, 2 cell phones, MiFi, laptop charger, and 2 extra surgical masks (just in case I need more for COVID-19 prevention), badge, and 2 small speciality reference books.
-considered: Montblanc sartorial briefcase, Carl Friederick Pallisy double, and Tumi (cannot recall the name).
The fact that my new briefcase makes me feel like a million dollars while I enjoy my job...priceless, easy to recommend.

I bought this bag for my husband as he was in need of a good leather bag that would accommodate his 17 inch laptop. Much as he expected it not to fit, it was a perfect fit. However, there is zero padding on the bottom of the bag and he was very concerned about setting his bag down and worrying about destroying his laptop. We fixed that with some packing material in the bottom - but it's not ideal. Another issue is the front buckle - this looks beautiful and it was something I liked about the bag... but it would be nice if you didn't have to belt it each time to open and close. Maybe a slide enclosure with a magnetic attachment that only looks like a belted opening? When you are traveling and need to access pockets quick - this becomes an issue. The last wish would be for an adjustable strap that can be made longer than the current one. As it stands now, this can only be worn over one shoulder and not across the body. Overall though, the bag and the leather are stunning and I would still buy it in a heartbeat.

I had been looking for a new briefcase for a while and chanced across Maxwell Scott on a Google search.
After using their easy to navigate and great looking website, I chose the 3 section briefcase in chestnut tan over the 2, as I figured for the difference in price, the additional capacity would be better all round. I placed my order and just prayed that it would be as good in the flesh as it looked on screen.
The briefcase arrived next day well packaged, in its own drawstring bag and the beautiful smell of the leather when I opened it, was amazing. I was not disappointed!
The product was far better than I expected, the briefcase is stylish, of high quality and the attention to detail with features like the little brass feet on the bottom seams to prevent it tearing when placed on the ground (something which has happened to my last 2 briefcases), the embossed logo and plenty of space for all those things I've usually had to split over a case and laptop bag in the past, make you realise the effort that has gone in to its design.
The product looks great and I've already had several positive comments at work about it and was also asked on the train where I got it from.
I would not hesitate to recommend or use Maxwell Scott again for other products, as I very much doubt I'll need another briefcase. Their communications from order placed, dispatch etc was excellent.
Overall money well spent for a great looking, quality item.

This is an awesome briefcase. I have had many over the years, and considered a Mont Blanc recently, but I am so glad I didn't. The quality, the finish, the feel, the leather is just so good. I carry a laptop, business papers, chargers, business cards, PDA, etc etc and it just fits the bill in all aspects. I would not hesitate to recommend it to any of my associates and colleagues. It's really well put together and is of very high quality and is great value for money over the Mont Blanc.

Have owned this bag for the last 6 months. The quality is spectacular. The three section version is extremely practical and would likely be able to hold any reasonable amount of paperwork for an office worker (plus laptop). The quality of the leather is superb. This is a bag that gets noticed.
Also, the delivery, packaging and service from Maxwell Scott was excellent.
The only things to be aware of:
The bag is reasonably heavy, even empty.
If the bag was fully loaded every day, the handle and fastenings may end up failing. It is not clear from the website what the loaded weight capacity of the bag is.
That said, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this bag. It is a pleasure every single time I use it.

There is one model larger, called the Tomacelli-3. Unless you need an extra-large amount of space, the Tomacelli-2 bag (the one I bought) should suit your needs. It is impeccably crafted and styled. I recommend it!

I own several, from saddleback and Jack George, on the high end to hammer and anvil and KomalC on the other end and Texbo in the middle; vagabond / polar on the high end and awaiting Cenzo to compare... So I have a few to compare... The leather is high quality and very well tanned and finished... There is high attention to detail and the bottom of the bag has nice protective feet cinched in brass to the leather... It is a very attractive briefcase... The drawbacks for daily use are NO padding for a laptop. every other bag that I HAVE purchased in this class has that protective padding for a laptop... It could be 1 inch wider for day to day files and instead of a belt clasp, a quick-release clasp.. this is a high-end high-quality briefcase that comes with a high-end price.
