Last night, in the Chairman’s Suite of The Grand, York, we celebrated the launch of our AW19 women’s collection…
Our AW19 collection caters to all types of city girl – from the business high flyer to the laidback creative. It was designed by Catriona Forsyth who has decades of design experience. In fact, in the past, she has designed for the likes of Alexander McQueen and Calvin Klein. For this collection, functionality was key. Nevertheless, it was imperative that this should not compromise the design and quality of each piece. After all, all of the bags in this collection have been handcrafted by our artisans in Italy and designed with the modern woman in mind. That is why our motto for the collection is #mybagmycity.
Still we hope to act as an antidote to the fast-fashion culture and would define ourselves as advocates for slow consumerism. Ultimately, the most beautiful bag is one that can be treasured for decades. Accessories such as these are enriched with memories and moments which are far more powerful than any throwaway piece that only lasts a couple of seasons.
The #MyBagMyCity themed collection includes nine leather bags that have been designed, tested and refined over a period of more than 24 months. It includes four business bags that are available in our signature leather and faux crocodile print leather, as well as two chain bags that are ideal for evening events, and three shoulder bags for more casual looks. These new models range in colours from classic black and neutrals, to sophisticated wine and french navy. These are handbags then for the modern woman with impeccable taste and refined style.

Whilst the new collection took centre stage, there were also plenty of activities to create a truly special night. For example, everyone experienced first hand our bespoke personalisation service with our head embosser Philip.
And personalised their own Mirabella large handbag tidy in our blush pink Nappa leather, exercising their creativity with leather paint.
Then, finally highly-respected palm reader Claire Nicholls also offered everyone readings. Remie from @remiesluxuryblog described her as “EVERYTHING”.

We were incredibly pleased to be able to host the event with our partners The Grand, York. The only 5* hotel in the city, The Grand was originally built in 1906 and is located in the centre of the city bursting with original features and architecture. It stands as one of the most respectable hotels in the city. Though we are an international brand, we are also incredibly proud to be based in Yorkshire. So, it was a pleasure to be in such a beautiful setting for this event in our home town.
